The excursion is a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Gisborne and the surrounding region with a friendly and knowledge driver guide. The excursion allows you to experience and taste the finest wines from 2 of the area’s wineries.

Wrights Vineyard – They are known for working from the grassroots to produce handcrafted boutique wines in an ethical and environmentally friendly way.

Matawhero Winery – They are 100% naturally dry farmed and they only grow their grapes using natural rainfall and no irrigation.

Bushmere Estate – It is 100% family owned by their family. They have been growing grapes for over 40 years.

TW Wines –   Grows and makes world-class wine by dry farming in these fertile plains and sunny climate.

Bridge Estate – With 120 year old history, it is nestled in the vines right by the Waipaoa Bridge in Mawahero, formerly the site of the Old Bridge Hotel.

Milton Vineyard – New Zealand’s first organic and biodynamic wine estate.

The specific wineries to be visited will be determined closer to sailing and based on their operation on the day, such as bottling or staffing. Each of these vineyards showcases what makes the wineries surrounding Gisborne so special.

Your exclusive day also includes a lunch platter at one of the vineyards.

Please note that Gisborne is a tender port. Due to the demand for tenders and the time it takes to tender ashore please attempt to be on one of the earlier tenders so you can come ashore in a timely manner and the departure time of your excursion is not delayed.
