Tour Overview

A 2.5 hour shore excursion which combines a local tour of Akaroa township and harbours with a trip to the Summit Road for some magnificent views, a stop at a cheese factory with samplings, and a guided tour of a working sheep farm with sheepdog work, a sheep shearing demonstration and afternoon tea.

What to Expect

2.00 pm: Depart Akaroa for a local tour through the bays and up onto Summit Road providing magnificent views of both the entire harbour and the northern coastline of the South Island.

2.45 pm: Arrive at Barry’s Bay Cheese Factory for a tasting of some of their wonderful cheeses.

3.00 pm: Arrive at Coombe Farm for farm tour. Witness sheepdogs at work and a sheep shearing demonstration.

4.00 pm: Afternoon tea in the homestead.

4.30 pm: Return to Akaroa township where your tour concludes. This will give you enough time to reunite with your Cruise ship before departure.
