Tour Overview
The tour highlights will include various locations around Hawkes Bay, (Napier and Hastings Cities and beyond) you will hear the very unique story of the region from the early settlement to the 1931 earthquake, through to today’s Art Deco Cities.
The sightseeing tour showcases spectacular postcard rural scenery, stopping for photographs along the way. Visit Te Mata Peak for fantastic views across the region to Mt Ruapehu in the distance while stopping for supplied refreshments and a photo opportunity.
You will visit Arataki Honey in Havelock North. They have a large tasting bay where you can taste many different types of honey including the world famous Manuka Honey.
You then return back through Hastings, to see the Art Deco and Spanish Mission styles from the 1930’s before heading back to Napier, the historic Art Deco Capital of the World, the City of Napier. This customized tour is designed to take advantage of your time ashore.
Should your ship be in port for a shorter time then envisaged all necessary adjustments to the itinerary will be made to ensure you get to experience the area as close to what is promised to you as possible on the day, and at the completion of this exciting local tour of discovery we will return you back to your shuttle in plenty of time to return to your ship.

Please be the first to depart upon arrival. Board the first shuttle (free) then depart that shuttle at the second stop, being the aquarium. At the aquarium look for your signage as agreed when booking. Complete meeting instructions will be sent to you upon booking and confirmation.

This 2.5-hour Napier Art Deco Tour will allow you to take in all the main Art Deco components this unique City has to offer. On this tour you will learn about Napier’s history including the huge earthquake of 1931 and enjoy driving through many of the Art Deco areas including local suburbs, such as Ahuriri the home of the National Tobacco Building and Marewa where you will drive through a very lovingly kept and dozens of original 1930s Art Deco homes. This is a one of a kind tour.
