A small group tour whilst your cruise ship is berthed in Hobart which includes sightseeing in Hobart City, spectacular views from Mt Wellington, Mt Field National Park and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary.
Once you are on board the touring starts immediately with sightseeing of Hobart’s Parliament House, Salamanca Place, Battery Point and the historic Female Factory. The tour then continues up to Mount Wellington for spectacular views of Hobart, the Derwent River and the Tasman Peninsula.
From Mt Wellington you will retrace your steps and drive through Hobart and its suburbs following the Derwent River into the heart of Tasmania to Mt Field National Park, Tasmania’s oldest National Park and is most famous for Russell Falls and it’s Tall Trees. Enjoy some of Tasmania’s “Great Short Walks”at Mt. Field National Park and in the afternoon after leaving the park we will stop to meet some of our local wildlife at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary.
At Mt Field National Park you will walk a series of short walks at Mt. Field following the beautiful forested trails to Russell Falls and Horseshoe Falls. We then head further into the National Park and explore the Tall Trees Track where we walk amongst the Giants of the Forests with the local swamp gums towering 80 metres above. Enjoy a lunch break at the Waterfalls Cafe at Mt Field (an optional extra)
Next stop is Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where you can wander amongst and hand feed the local Kangaroos and Wallabies, see Tasmanian Devils, Wombats and many more of our unique local animals. This is a fantastic day out exploring many of Tasmania’s most unique sights and experiences, rainforests, waterfalls and wildlife.
