The tour proceeds to the tranquil turquoise coloured waters of Lake Tekapo with its famous Church of the Good Shepard and the statue of a Mackenzie Dog. The tour will then proceed up to the Mount John Observatory, 300 meters above Lake Tekapo and providing you with magnificent 360 degree views and photo opportunities of this entire region.

The next stop is Lake Pukaki with Aoraki Mount Cook, Australasia’s highest mountain, as a backdrop. The next stop is at the Aoraki Mount Cook village at the base of this famous mountain, where there will be time for lunch at the Hermitage Restaurant which is included in the excursion cost.

Following lunch you will drive into the Tasman Valley and walk up the old terminal moraine of the Tasman Glacier and view the newly created lake Tasman

The return journey to Timaru will follow a similar route to your outbound journey, but will also include a visit to a Salmon Farm located just outside the High Country Township of Twizel.
